The History of The Abbey Seal Beach

Located in the heart of Seal Beach, California, The Abbey is more than just a restaurant—it’s a community hub where friends and family gather to enjoy innovative meals and craft beverages. Established in 1997, our establishment has become a local landmark, famous for its wood-fired pizzas, mouth-watering burgers, and signature appetizers.

Our Story

The Abbey gained international recognition in 1998 when baseball legend Mark McGwire wore our hats during his historic season, prompting thousands of orders and cementing our place in sports history. Under new management since 2010, we continue to innovate while staying true to our roots. Proprietors Tom and Sheree invite you to experience our open kitchen, featuring 16 craft beers on tap and a curated wine selection.

Community Involvement

We are proud to be actively involved in the Seal Beach community through partnerships with Run Seal Beach, the Seal Beach Chamber of Commerce, and the Lions Club. Our commitment to local engagement reflects our belief in fostering a vibrant community.
